Thanks to lots of sideline help, Zoom, and most importantly the founding sponsors, Here to Stay in Wintergreen is now:
incorporated in Virginia as a nonprofit organization,
has necessary insurance coverage for volunteers, and
we have secured 501(c)3 status working through the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Corporation (TJPDC) as our fiscal agent.
The TJPDC a 501(c)3, a tax-exempt corporation, has agreed to be the fiscal agent for HSW. This mutually beneficial relationship will assist HTSW to become its own independent 501(c)3.
In this role, the TJPDC will provide the business development resources to include maintaining books and financial records in accordance with sound accounting principles, providing monthly financial reports, assisting with grant proposals, and receiving tax-exempt donations on behalf of and for the use of HSW.
