A five-week series presented by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office will address the most common scams, crimes and issues targeting the elderly.
Each session will feature local, expert speakers who will focus on events designed to protect and empower our senior community. This is vital information that will help safeguard your well-being and peace of mind.
The scheduled topics and presenters are:
10/1 Financial Scams by Matt Hall
10/8 Financial Exploitation by Atlantic Bank and Credit
10/15 Highway Safety and Fire Accident Scenes
10/22 Adult Protective Services, Home Safety, Medical Fraud by Brad Mundell, Rob Moses, Blue Ridge Medical
10/29 Home Invasion and Defense by Daniel Rutherford, Commonwealth Attorney for Nelson County
Sessions will held on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church at 8408 Thomas Nelson Highway in Lovingston.
